Emperors of Rome: Dubois 1
Previously in ancient Rome...
The son and heir to the throne, Caden, was intended to be betrothed to newcomer Nicole Eriksen. Though less than impressed at first, he was willing to give it a chance and they eventually found themselves in a relationship.
Of more devastating effect on the family was the Plague, which took the lives of Empress Aggytha, son Cicero, and slave cousin Aeliana. Can the family recover from this tragedy? How will Caden and Nicole's relationship continue to develop?
Emperor Parker knows that his daughter Carli, who is swiftly approaching adulthood, is in need of a suitable mate. As all of the eligible Patrician teenage boys are related to Carli, Parker decided he simply needed to make a decision. After a meeting with his sister, Polly Lazim, it was determined. Polly's eldest son Marduk would marry Carli. Who cared that they were first cousins? These things happen all the time in royal lineages throughout history!
New arrivals to the Emperor's household are brothers from Egypt, brought back from a victorious campaign. Far from the princely lifestyle to which they were accustomed in Egypt, they are now forced to work as slaves. Ramses and Osiris Sekhet, however, clung to the hope that they could somehow find wives in this new land and therefore escape to their own plots of land. Time here in the palace could be put to use by learning those skills and talents necessary to surviving in Rome.

Love, Lust, and Loathing
Romance was the theme of this round in the Emperor's household. At the end of Round 12, I sat down and tried to pair up as many sims as I could, so those pairings are now seeing themselves reflected in the story. I'm hampered again by the incredible number of first cousins in the game. So far, I have no matches for any of the younger boys in the house, so I knew I needed someone for Carli, even if it required pairing up first cousins and forcing the game to allow it. So Marduk and Carli, much to their loathing, are being forced into marriage by their parents (who are siblings, unfortunately). Of course, such close pairings are not foreign to ancient Rome. After all, when in Rome...
Caden's romantic dalliances were all his own. That's what comes of bringing townies home from work, I suppose. I'm enjoying watching it unfold, so I do not plan to interfere. The installation of ACR is certainly allowing my neighbourhood to take on a life of its own, something about which I am very happy.
Osiris is already married and moved in. Bryony did her part to make that happen. She's already suspecting that something may not quite be right with her fertility cycle and feared being an unmarried mother. Hopefully the baby doesn't pop out skin one with blue eyes or she will be forced to confess.
And Ramses and Orellia... I think that shall make an interesting household. Perhaps she will become tamer in marriage....
Next, the second Dubois family:
