Plebeians: Chbihi 2
Lily and Xander surveyed the empty farmland with pleasure. What a lovely and appropriate way for plantsims to finish our their lives as elders. (Even if Xander had given in and taken the Plantophonic-C potion the gypsy woman had offered.) Many of their cousins and siblings had taken to this new Roman way of living with such gusto that they had completely abandoned their way of growing up. Their children had no idea what a garden plot even was! In contrast, Lily and Xander planned to continue the gold badge gardening skills in their family line. Any child who gave up on gardening was no child of theirs! Their other goal was to get their children married. Their eldest daughter Zadie was married to Alex Wood and had provided them with two healthy grandchildren, Lucianus and Lactantius. As a Plebeian, Alex ran a shop just down the road and appeared to be a perfect match, other than the slight issue of shopkeeping, rather than gardening. They still mourned the loss of Burbank and Burnett, the two missing from their quadruplet set, but focused their attention on their surviving children.
Though Bracken, the eldest son of the family, had a stronger interest in shopkeeping than gardening, he was also interested in keeping his parents happy. Once he aged into an adult, he had grand plans for a sort of farmers' market on that empty plot of land across the street. After all, the elite would still want the benefits of homegrown food, even if they would not stoop to harvesting fruits and vegetables themselves. The slaves of the Emperor and Patricians could be sent to buy produce, filling the bellies of the elite and the purses of the Chbihis. His relationship with Missi Lazim, eldest daughter of the Patrician family on the hill was a victory to his parents, but less crucial in his own mind. Perhaps when they both became adults, further plans could be made. But until then, the market...
Bracken's surviving quadruplet twin, Bryony, worried about herself and her marriage prospects much more than the family's farm. In the first place, there were very few available males in Rome. Most were related to her or of an unattainable social level. Second, Bryony was an incurable romantic. Though she knew her parents would be within their right to marry her off to the first eligible bachelor found, Bryony held out hope for that irresistible man to arrive. The one with whom three lightning bolts would be shared. The one who would make her heart flutter... and not just with indigestion. Surely there had to be someone out there?
Beech was a young teen and rather uninterested so far in girls. He did not seem to be interested in much of anything, though not unwilling to help out with gardening. In contrast, Balsa and Birch, child twins, were pleased at the sight of their new house and just about everything. 'Wallpaper!' 'A toilet!' 'A bookshelf!' the two screamed as they ran around, joyful at experiencing all the delights of a Plebeian Roman home. The combination of energetic Balsa and outgoing Birch made for a crazy duo, excited to explore and do everything. They were also more than happy to assist their parents on the farm, taking delight in the fact that there were very few such farms in Rome. 'We're special!'

Several Days in the Life
Blossoming (and Surprising) Romance
Once again, I sit dumbfounded at the end of a round, wondering what happened. Most of the round was fairly tame, with plenty of time spent caring for crops. Other elements were mildly joyful, such as all the birthdays and Bracken's engagement to Missi. Lily and Xander are fairly typical elders, desperate for their offspring to get engaged and married. I tried my best to satisfy such wants, but I think they shall have to wait for a while. The most shocking aspect again came from ACR. I installed that just before I started this challenge, so I am not used to the things it makes sims do. Combined with the social class distinctions set in place by the challenge, interesting gameplay results. Poor Bryony, desperate for true love, yet forever kept from it as a result of her social standing.
